In honour of Mexico’s national day of independence - Dia de la Independencia - we’re hosting a Mexican feast showcasing a six course beverage paired dinner. Settle in with a classic Margarita, and sit back to enjoy an Australian first as we welcome Mexican Cellars to showcase the very best of Mexican wine production!

Possibly not the first country you think of when your mind wanders to a crisp Chardonnay, however with Mexico’s first vineyard dating back almost 500 years, Mexico are pretty well versed in wine production. The first vineyards acclimatised so quickly to the Mexican terrain that after a few short years the Spanish crown prohibited the production of Mexican wine in fear of too much competition.
It seems apt then to celebrate Mexico’s national day of independence, the day Hidalgo revolted the spanish regime, with an abundance of Mexican wine as Tequila Mockingbird welcomes Jorge Negrete - Mexican Cellars - to host a 6 dish beverage paired wine dinner. The specially designed six course menu includes a 2016 Viogner/Fiano blend served with Seared Sea Scallop, pepita green apple salsa and crispy pork belly. Like what you’ve tasted? The evening will conclude with a rare opportunity to purchase a selection of Mexican wine.

Booking conditions: A credit card guarantee of $119pp will be necessary to reserve your spot. Any no-shows or cancellations made with less than 5 days notice will incur a cancellation fee of up to $119pp. As this is a special event with a menu curated to pair with each wine, we are unable to accommodate any dietary requests for this event.
