Gathering in the Garden - with Nick Spencer Wines

Move over long winter nights, we’re ready for spring and the abundance of produce it brings.
NSW winemaker - Nick Spencer - joins us for one night only this August, showcasing 6 world class wines from Tumbarumba & Gundagai in an evening celebrating the fruits gathered from Australia’s own back garden.
The wine list has been innovatively paired with 6 dishes heroing Australian native ingredients, with a Latin American twist.
Pairings include a 2018 ‘Silver Label’ Chardonnay - fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel in a similar way that some traditional Chablis is produced in the North of Burgundy, served with an Oyster Mushroom Quesadilla, lemon myrtle & queso seco.
In contrast, we’ll also be serving the 2018 gold label Chardonnay, matured in large French oak barrels. The vibrant palate of the oaked chardonnay will be served with a Wild Mushroom Tetela, hazelnut butter & goat feta crema.

Nick Spencer Wines is a small Canberra based Wine company dedicated to producing exceptional, hand crafted wines that honour their local landscape. Producing stunning, award winning wines for nearly two decades, Nick’s passion and remarkable talent for considered, quality wines is evident in every bottle.
Awarded a degree in oenology in 2000, Nick has worked for notable producers across the industry including Rosemount, Coldstream Hills, Madew Wines, Tertini Wines and most recently, proudly led the team at Eden Road for almost a decade. He has toured extensively through France, New Zealand and Californian wine regions and is a regular judge at Many regional and national wine shows including in Sydney and in Queensland.
Nick has received extensive industry recognition, winning the 2009 Jimmy Watson Memorial trophy, The National Wineshow trophy for best Shiraz in 2011 and a finalist in the Gourmet Traveller ‘Young Gun of Wine’ award in 2011 and then finalist for Gourmet Travellers ‘Winemaker of the Year’ award in 2014.
