ABOUT

OUR STORY

Welcome to tqm., a bold new chapter in one of Sydney’s most iconic dining spaces. Formerly Tequila Mockingbird, our heritage-listed 1898 terrace in the heart of Paddington Five Ways has undergone a vibrant transformation — and we’re serving up a fresh, immersive experience rooted in the rich culinary traditions of South America.

Led by Michelin-rated Executive Chef José Garcia, tqm. brings fire, flavour and storytelling to every dish. Drawing from his Venezuelan roots and years at Buenos Aires’ acclaimed Fogón Asado, José curates a menu that celebrates the depth and diversity of South American cuisine — from smoky wood-fired meats and seafood to reimagined street food classics inspired by childhood memories and coastal traditions.

Our cocktail program, crafted by original team member and Group Bar Executive Mark Crawford, complements the experience with creative, Latin-inspired drinks — alongside a cellar featuring Atticus Hospitality’s debut wine collection, The Tramuntana Mountain Series.

Designed with warmth, theatre and nostalgia in mind, tqm. is spread across three characterful levels — a moody cocktail bar, a narrow dining room opening into a lush courtyard, and an upstairs space perfect for intimate gatherings. The bold yellow interiors echo the vibrancy of Venezuelan culture, symbolising abundance, harmony and the joy we aim to deliver with every service.

At tqm., we continue to embody the spirit that made Tequila Mockingbird a beloved local fixture for nearly a decade — a fun, unpretentious atmosphere powered by friendship, creativity, and a deep love for Latin American hospitality.
